When is an application eligible for support?

Thank you for your interest in the Ubbo Emmius Fund. The Ubbo Emmius Fund aims to strengthen research and education at the University of Groningen. The fund supports initiatives that contribute to academic development and to finding solutions to societal challenges.

What do we focus on?

The Ubbo Emmius Fund supports:

• research and education at the University of Groningen
• projects that align with the fund’s thematic focus
• initiatives with a clear scientific basis and relevance

Applications are assessed on the basis of their substantive quality, their contribution to the fund’s objectives and their connection to the University of Groningen.

What do we not support?

In principle, the fund does not support:

• activities without a direct link to the University of Groningen
• applications that do not contribute to research or education
• initiatives that fall outside the fund’s objectives and thematic focus

Assessment of applications

All applications are carefully assessed for their alignment with the mission and working methods of the Ubbo Emmius Fund. If an application does not fit within this framework, or does so only to an insufficient extent, we are unfortunately unable to consider it.
