The University of Groningen and ASML have reached an important milestone.
After more than two and a half years of preparation, they signed a cooperation agreement that lays the foundation for long-term, sustainable collaboration.
The collaboration builds on the strong research environment in Groningen. CogniGron also plays an important role in this. CogniGron is a large-scale research programme in which researchers develop ideas and materials to make the digital society future-proof. It is one of the most ambitious projects that the Ubbo Emmius Fund has made possible.
Thanks to the agreement with ASML, new research projects on technologies for the next generation of computer chips can be launched more quickly. The focus is on fundamental knowledge development, with collaboration between universities, researchers and industrial partners playing a central role.
This step demonstrates that investments in scientific talent and research infrastructure are essential for maintaining and strengthening high-tech knowledge and activity in the Netherlands. Read the full article on the website of the University of Groningen.
